So recently I found out how you can install user skins to your aircraft in the game. And I was just wondering, will other players be able to see them to or is it only the paid camouflage that other people can see?
As Palpy said, only you can see a custom skin, to everyone else it will just be the default camouflage. Or, for instance, a skin which involves highly political issues can create teamkilling cases.
If skins were able to be seen by everyone, how to download other peoples skins, you had to upload it to server, which would create overload in server in how to download other peoples skins couple of days. You can add decals 2 with regular account, 4 with premium and you can unlock or buy skins. Go to customization to see the options for each vehicle.
You do this by clicking on the small portrait of the vehicle at the bottom of the screen in the hanger. I see the 4 decal slots and I can add decals. I don't see option to add "official" unlockable or purchasable tank skins. There is a "Camouflage" option but it is locked at "Standard" and not changeable. Majority of skins are made bicouse piople wont to fly with them and make videos. And this problem of not inpropriate skins could be solved real easy,and fast,you only need one guy who gona check first every skin,and after that he can puts in like some game skins library,and every one can get that skin for him self if they like it.
It's not as simple as that because the size of War Thunder would increase exponentially. The download would be enormous, especially when people make 4, 8 and 16k skins. I'm not sure if you realise how much space custom skins actually require. Customisation is key to making this game stand out before others. I beg you on my knees.
The UserSkin thing and the live. I don't care if nobody else can see my skins, some of Gaijin's choices for "stock" camouflage are horribly inaccurate or just bland and I want my planes to look better than that. I don't want anime skins, I want realistic, accurate and interesting markings. But, I'm going to say something controversial, it's a terrible business model.
See, how to download other peoples skins, Gaijin needs to make money, and the way they do it is by selling premium planes, crew XP boosters etc. Unfortunately this brings about all sorts of P2W accusations and directly affects the game balance, whether you like it or not. If Gaijin were to completely lock down the ability to customise skins client side, then hired some of the really great guys from live.
They could put all premium planes in the normal tree, remove crew XP, and they would still be making a profit. So many other games have microtransactions for purely aesthetic elements, with no effect on gameplay whatsoever, and they are profitable while being balanced. I wish you could let others see your amazing user skins, But as of now you can't Hopefully soon we will be able to share the amazing skins with others :.

Meaning that only the person using the skin can see it. How to download other peoples skins on the fact that the answer is "no". But beneath, it has a couple of logical reasons.
